Perfect timing, perfect location
The Mornington Retirement Village’s perfect location and welcoming community of residents and staff couldn’t have come at a better time for Patricia Dujela. She moved into The Mornington in January this year, and said “it’s been wonderful ever since.”
“When I first saw the lake, the wonderful layout of the village, and the beautiful styling of our unit I knew I was set to move,” Patricia said.
“And now that I’m here I really enjoy the atmosphere and just sitting down by the lake and saying hello to my new neighbours.”
It’s the perfect release for Patricia and her husband Benito, who lives with Parkinsons.
The couple will celebrate 55 years of marriage later this year, and Patricia said it’s good to be together after she also had some health concerns. The Mornington’s friendly staff provided extra incentive for the couple to move from their former home and seek a new lifestyle that offered support, security and some extra comforts.
Two of those comforts are The Seabird Restaurant and the Clubhouse Barista Café, which provide a great range of food and drink.
“It’s very nice to have it so close by, and once everything is back to normal I can’t wait to get back there to have some treats and catch up with everyone,” Patricia said.
Patricia is a volunteer with the local RSPCA, and said having local shops and medical facilities nearby gives her and Benito that extra comfort they were looking for before they entered the retirement village lifestyle.
